THE ROLE
In this role you will manage, develop and lead the a team of Hygiene Operatives on the assigned shift, driving forward Company initiatives to ensure high levels of hygiene and cleanliness across the site.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage Hygiene Operatives to include the organisation of duties, motivation, communication, and safety, in line with Company requirements.
Manage the daily resource rotas and arrange relevant cover as necessary to ensure a full complement of staff is available each shift as required.
Support and collaborate with Operations team to maintain in-shift Hygiene support throughout the Production, Warehouse and amenities processes.
Proactively ensure that all tasks assigned to the team fall in line with site schedules in order to maintain KPI’s and achieve set targets.
Ensure all hygiene documentation is completed and audited daily.
Demonstrate and drive safety standards across the team, in line with Company H&S requirements.
Conduct investigations and carry out disciplinary’s with staff as required.
Assist the Hygiene Manager in managing staff performance.
Assist the Hygiene Manager with the recruitment process for new staff as and when necessary, in line with internal recruitment policies.
Assist the Hygiene Manager with staff development, to include on-the-job training, probation reviews and on-boarding. This also includes the training and induction of temporary staff.
Prepare reports for management on present standards and areas for improvement.
Assist in the preparation of the site and documents for any scheduled or unscheduled visits or audits.
Play an active part in the continuous improvement of the team’s delivery of quality, service, safety and hygiene.
Reach and maintain hygiene targets and key business performance indicators.
To engage with the management of site facilities, supporting delivery of regulatory and legislative compliance.
To assist in the control and management of consumables and chemical stocks in line with budgetary requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Relevant food hygiene qualification to at least level 2
Previous experience supervising a Hygiene department
Food industry experience would be advantageous
Ability to plan and schedule cleaning tasks
Good verbal communication and numeracy skills
IT literate
H&S experience
COSHH
Flexibility with shifts and hours due to scheduled and unscheduled visits / audits and production scheduling
