Our Enfield, London site is currently looking for a Transport Coordinator reporting into the Transport Controller on a permanent basis. Although this role is full-time, there is the possibility for part-time.
ROLE
We are seeking a dedicated Transport Coordinator to support the transport-related activities at our Enfield site and assist the Transport Controller. You'll oversee the daily dispatch of up to 20 vans, ensuring full adherence to the planned schedule. If you have a solid geographic knowledge of the UK, especially London and the Southeast, this is the role for you.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conducting full briefings for all drivers before departure, ensuring all invoices and collection notes are correctly issued.
- Equipping drivers to adhere to the schedule and providing feedback to the Transport Controller.
- Ensuring all routes are properly manned, covering absences, and notifying any late departures.
- Monitoring clocking reports to ensure all transport staff clock in and out daily.
- Undertaking monthly vehicle audits and completing all associated paperwork.
- Responding to reported defects and maintaining communication between Fairfax Meadow and vehicle suppliers.
- Controlling, monitoring, and reporting on tray reconciliation, including trays left at customers and sent to Derby.
- Highlighting any delivery training needs and ensuring all staff complete required IHASCO training.
- Ensuring all drivers comply with Health and Safety policies and conducting investigations of accidents and near misses.
- Deputising for the Controller when needed, with flexible working hours.
- Familiarising with AX, Optimo, Samsara, Lightfoot, MS Office, The People Hub, and the FFM Report Manager application, with training provided as necessary.
- Managing holiday requests for the Enfield Transport department and updating the People Hub daily.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
- Previous experience within a busy transport operation (preferably multi temperature food transport).
- High quality organisational skills
- The ability to work unsupervised using own initiative is essential.
- Effective communication skills, both written and oral
